A Fortune Cookie

Today after a long beautiful hike at Castle Craig I had dinner in a Chinese restaurant.
I did not see a werewolf, but I did get this fortune in my cookie
“You’ll accomplish more later if you have a little fun this weekend.”
OK then!
Tomorrow; friends in Oakland (with it’s decided dearth of Oaks) and then down the 1 to friends in San Louis.
That way I get Redwoods!
My Oakland friends, Kelli, Chris & their son Arron & daughter Valerie (names have been changed to prevent the guilty) have all been reading “Dirk Quigby.” It’s a family affair.  
Valerie decided I was evil because I mocked Oakland for it’s lack of Oaks. 
In fairness only East Oakland lacks oaks.. the rest of Oakland crawls with them.
Especially at night, on a full moon.
Oaks crawl from the forests and riparian lowlands of California, down to their native birthplace in Oakland.
Where now waves of graffiti color the walls, once druids danced
