TALES FROM SAN MIGUEL and Other Stories

Everyone Has A Story…Captivate A Crowd With Yours

Breathe fire into a true tale of ordinary life. You are extraordinary, share it.

Have you ever fantasized about being a guest on a talk show? What story would fascinate a crowd?  All of us have at least one true tale that happened to us and when the time is right, it would be wonderful to tell “your story” with confidence. You can hear the roar of laughter or draw a tear from the hard-hearted, a gasp when you–the protagonist–fall upon some unpredictable situation.  Everyone is spellbound!

STORYTELLING WORKSHOP

1. Via email, submit a five-minute true story that happened to you. Choose an unusual, pivotal, fun, frightening, coming-of-age, funny, irreverent, sentimental or a-ha incident on any subject. Time your tale to be about five minutes (about four pages double spaced.)

2. Our staff edits your story giving it the most powerful impact possible and emails it back to you, along with two pages of pointers to help structure and organize yourself. (You may use notes, read your story or tell it.)  We all know someone who is “all over the place” while telling a story.  Not you!

3. In 2 groups storytellers receive valuable performance coaching by the workshop facilitators.           (Only five students per teacher.)

4. After dinner break is the performance. Invite friends to the storytelling show
