and the audience was enthralled …all one of them…OK I exaggerate
I brought 2 people with me so with the 2 workers it was 5…and they were in my pocket.
Really it was good fun.
I travel with an after life food table , (Mormon) Brigham’s Yummy Jello, Holy wine (drink it and it turns to blood)
Baptist Twinkies (deep, deep fried in beef tallow, topped with raspberry jam, powered sugared and topped with chocolate and caramel sauce)

it was difficult because today I expected a good turn out, great expectations always let you down… also I figured Mormon would be punctual…. and they were..my brother -in-law and sister, devout Mormons, showed up right on time. ….great. Just what I want, an audience who will hate me. I don’t mind offending religious folk,but I prefer it when they aren’t the only 2 people in an audience looking at me.
There were 3 kids/youth? (under 21) in the audience. The kids were wonderful! The young man was nervous, he’d never been to a book reading, his girlfriend had dragged him there, but he warmed right up under the glow of irreverence. Afterward he told me how much he liked it… another 4 wandered in…and it was a packed house… loosely packed with lots of filler…
